Tree plantation drive launched under ‘Green Pasrur Campaign’

A tree plantation drive was launched on Saturday under the ‘Green Pasrur Campaign’ by the Social Welfare Society, Registered Pasrur, with the support of local philanthropists, aiming to promote environmental protection and enhance greenery in the area.
According to organisers, thousands of saplings will be planted along the stretch from New Sabzi Mandi Pasrur to Budiyana as part of the campaign to help reduce environmental pollution and improve the local ecosystem.
The initiative was inaugurated by Assistant Commissioner Pasrur Sadra Sattar and President of the Social Welfare Society Sohail Ahmed Chaudhry, who planted saplings to mark the start of the drive. Social activists, volunteers and local residents were also present on the occasion.
Speaking at the event, the assistant commissioner directed officials of the Highway Department to ensure the use of fertile soil in rocky areas before plantation so that the saplings can grow effectively. She said tree plantation was a shared responsibility and urged citizens to actively participate in the Punjab government’s ‘Green Punjab Programme’ to ensure a clean and healthy environment for future generations.
Sohail Ahmed Chaudhry said the campaign would continue with public support and would be extended to other areas of Pasrur to increase green cover and improve the city’s appearance.

پسرور کو سرسبز و شاداب بنانے کے عزم کے تحت سرسبز پسرور مہم کے نام سے شجرکاری مہم کا باقاعدہ آغاز کر دیا گیا ہے۔ یہ مہم سوشل ویلفیئر سوسائٹی رجسٹرڈ پسرور کی جانب سے مخیر حضرات کے تعاون سے شروع کی گئی، جس کے دوران نیو سبزی منڈی پسرور سے بڈیانہ تک ہزاروں پودے لگائے جائیں گے۔ مہم کا مقصد ماحولیاتی آلودگی میں کمی اور علاقے کے حسن میں اضافہ کرنا ہے۔
شجرکاری مہم کا افتتاح اسسٹنٹ کمشنر پسرور سدرہ ستار اور صدر سوشل ویلفیئر سوسائٹی سہیل احمد چوہدری نے مشترکہ طور پر پودا لگا کر کیا۔ اس موقع پر مقامی سماجی شخصیات، رضاکاروں اور شہریوں کی بڑی تعداد موجود تھی، جنہوں نے اس ماحول دوست اقدام کو سراہا اور بھرپور تعاون کا یقین دلایا۔
تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے اسسٹنٹ کمشنر پسرور سدرہ ستار نے محکمہ ہائی وے کے افسران کو ہدایت جاری کی کہ جن مقامات پر پتھریلی مٹی موجود ہے وہاں زرخیز مٹی ڈال کر پودے لگائے جائیں تاکہ شجرکاری کے نتائج دیرپا ثابت ہوں۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ حکومت پنجاب کے سرسبز پنجاب پروگرام کے تحت شجرکاری کو فروغ دیا جا رہا ہے اور ہر شہری کو چاہیے کہ وہ کم از کم ایک درخت ضرور لگائے تاکہ آنے والی نسلوں کو صاف اور صحت مند ماحول فراہم کیا جا سکے۔
صدر سوشل ویلفیئر سوسائٹی سہیل احمد چوہدری نے کہا کہ شجرکاری مہم عوامی تعاون سے جاری رہے گی اور آئندہ مرحلے میں مزید علاقوں کو بھی اس میں شامل کیا جائے گا۔ انہوں نے عزم ظاہر کیا کہ پسرور کو سرسبز، خوبصورت اور ماحول دوست شہر بنانے کے لیے سوسائٹی اپنی کوششیں جاری رکھے گی۔
